Dear Future Husband

I would like you to know that I have put high expectations on you. I am not completely to blame for this, because my parents, my friends, my uncle, my siblings, and several other unwitting souls have contributed to your necessary qualities. I'm actually not sure if you exist, but I pray that you do, because obviously, I'd love to meet you. I felt that I should give you an adequate heads up of said expectations, for both our sakes. Keep in mind that several of the items on my list aren't necessary, only hopeful.

1. Love God. Your relationship with Him needs to be as and hopefully more mature than mine. This one is a deal-breaker.

2. Love people. Obviously, not just me. :)

3. Be respectful -- of your parents, your authorities, your friends, and especially people much older than, much younger than, or below you in rank. They require your respect the most, in that order..

4. Laugh. Really, your sense of humor is absolutely necessary.

5. Be a servant. This one is really just another aspect of 1, 2 and 3.

6. Appreciate my Uncle Chris' sense of humor. If you effortlessly do that, you're well on your way to being perfect.

7. Appreciate, if not be in desperate love with, Lord of the Rings.

8. Care about little things, so you can remind me to.

9. You don't have to be Prince Charming, but you should be charming anyway.

10. Be a person of patience.

11. Read.

12. Care a lot about small children, especially ours. (I suppose they would count as little things.)

13. Don't be afraid to tell me how you feel.

14. Be clever. Be imaginative. (They're short, so I put them in the same one.)

15. Be willing to be spontaneous.

16. Be musical.

17. Be my friend.

18. My dad says he wants cute grandkids, so you need to be at least tolerable, if not stunningly handsome.

No pressure!
Much love,
   Andrea
